I bought this as a gift for my mothers 70th Birthday. It was 100% sealed and new in the package. All the parts were there with instructions. However some of the steps could’ve been explained a little more concisely as I broke some of the parts when assembling as they are so delicate.
Without a truly comprehensive diagram or explanation of steps in detail makes you a little sketchy on how to proceed without trouble. Some of the pins were so tight that a couple broke. At least they offer extras for this. I only wish that I didn’t have to glue some parts together to get them to stay so that I could proceed to the next step. The horn for one and the parts are cut perfectly but are so tight that they are hard to put together as the case with the drawer.
Instructions are included but not too great – they could use a little more explanation as to why the next part will go in a certain way so as to not damage the petals of the horn or the spars that hold them in place. A small piece of sandpaper was included and it was expertly packaged. I loved that! It has an old world charm and beauty unmatched by today’s garbage electronics. It has a cuteness to it as well. As of this writing I am waiting ’til my mothers actual Birth date to give it to her. She will love this and she will be so surprised.
The quality is amazing but I can’t give this five stars simply because of the aforementioned issues. Not a bad deal for what this cost. It took me 3 1/2 hours to build but I glued the base so that it wouldn’t come apart when assembling the rest. I also took my time and several breaks not to mention that I sealed it with Tung oil the day before to keep moisture and skin oil from handling so that it won’t look dirty years from now.

Instructions suck. No mention of numbered parts in assembly diagrams, that do not exist and are not printed on the 122 actual wooden parts. How to correlate parts with construction???
