Challenging but enchanting
Based on retro-style mechanical timepiece, LK501 features a precise pendulum mechanism which requires more attention and patience. But the sense of fufillment is also doubled. After fully wound up, it can keep working for 3~4 hours maximum, prolonging the building fun as much as you want.
- a gravity-swing pendulum with precise anchor escapement
- appealing outlook of mechanical engineering
- double fun of model building & brain teasing
- perfect gift for mechanical lovers or family & friends

Fun assembling but the rest is a piece of junk. The pallet fork and escape will not engage properly, no matter how many times it is leveled or on what side. I have been up and down on both sides to no avail. The pendulum degree of arc is not large enough for the proper engagement of the two parts. Can’t get it fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assembled it but it only runs for a few seconds. I waxed and waxed and waxed, checked all the alignments, and still cannot understand why it just runs for a few seconds.
Still haven’t given up hope yet.

Very much fun building this clock – we polished all wheels carefully and leveled the clock in the end – and it works perfectly. Nice to hear the tick-tock!

Hour hand runs to slow the other hand work just fine

I finished building this clock a couple of days ago. It took between 4 and 5 hours to complete. I have some experience with old clocks so when it only worked for a few seconds I knew it was a leveling issue. It’s important that you hear an even tick/tock. Once I had it on a level surface it ran for 6 hours before stopping. I broke one small piece on assembly and fortunately there was a spare for that piece. Very happy with the end result.

I built this over the course of 3 -4 days during the “2020”lock down”. After assembling and fine tuning it, I took it all apart and my wife and I colored the gears and then I reassembled it. It runs great and you can really notice the movement of the gears because of the coloring.
