   Really enjoyed putting this together. It was my first kit…and I was nervous I would break some pieces getting them out…but all worked well. Clocking is ticking next to me as I type this. I enjoyed figuring out how the gears worked…and troubleshooting some of the assembly. Love the challenge.

   I really enjoyed this, built in about 4 hours. I found the instructions quite good. Once assembled I had an issue with the escapement and pallet, the pallet had too much play where it connected at the top of the pendulum and it was losing all it energy after a few seconds. I removed this part and glued it together to remove the play, re-installed and it worked much better, it would stall every few min after this point, I would mark which tooth it was hanging up on and sanded just a tiny bit off that escapement tooth, after fixing that one tooth it’s been running now for 4 hours and keep time (maybe a 20s fast over 4 hours). Really enjoyed this. Surprised by the number of negative comments as this was a wonderful product. Thanks again.

   I removed one of the B2 gears from the gear assembly in step 3, cut B3 and B4 flush with remaining B2 gears and glued. This solved the free wheeling problem I was experiencing. Also, parts F4, F5 and F6 are not sturdy enough as they break during assembly. I added a drop of glue and clamped. Once assembled with modifications above clock ran fine with quite good accuracy. Instructions need to do a better job of explaining assembly. Once I realized each gear is different (look at spokes) assembly progressed rapidly.

   Assemble with care. Lubricate all the gear cogs. I use a dry lubricant rather than was. Single winding runs for about 4 hours. Suggest removing pendulum, winding and allowing to run a few times to check alignment of gears. With correct pendulum weight positioning, it keeps quite accurate time. NOTE hours and minutes, no seconds. Took about 2 hrs or less to assemble.

   Clock runs for 10 minutes at most and then the gears disengage and the spring unspins completely. I took it apart and rebuilt it and it still doesn’t work. Would not recommend.
